Terry Carlyle DDS, MSc.

Dr. Terry Carlyle was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta. He received his Degree in Dentistry from the University of Alberta in 1973. After graduation he practiced general dentistry in Grande Prairie with Dr. Meador. His passion for continuous learning and interest in orthodontics took him to the University of Manitoba Graduate Orthodontic Program and in 1977 he received his Master of Science in Oral Biology and earned his specialization in Orthodontics. Dr. Carlyle is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Graduate Orthodontic Program at the University of Alberta as well as Visiting Lecturer at the Orthodontic Graduate Program at the University of Manitoba.

Dr. Carlyle's exceptional knowledge and his kind and generous personality have endeared him to patients and staff.  He and his wife Dawne reside in Edmonton, where they raised  3 children and now have the pleasure of spending time with their 5 grandchildren. He is a huge Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Eskimo fan and is active in the Edmonton Scottish Society.

Dr. Carlyle is a member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and is certified by the Academy of Laser Dentistry.  He is currently serving as a member of the Alberta Dental Association & College Council and has the honor of being a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists.

Don Meador DDS, MSc.

Dr. Don Meador is also a born and bred Albertan. As a child, he lived in many villages and towns in Alberta as his Dad was an agent for the Alberta Wheat Pool. He received his Bachelor of Science in 1969 followed by a degree in dentistry in 1973 from the University of Alberta. He practiced general dentistry with Dr. Carlyle in Grande Prairie until 1980. In 1982 he received his Master of Science in Oral Biology with specialization in Orthodontics from the University of Manitoba.  He then returned to Grande Prairie to practice orthodontics. We were thrilled that he joined Dr. Carlyle at Strathcona Orthodontics in 2004. Dr. Meador is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Alberta Graduate Orthodontic Program, where he passes along his expertise to a new generation of aspiring orthodontists.

Dr. Meador is a highly skilled clinician who is loved for his quiet demeanour, his warm smile and his kind heart.  He is a HUGE hockey fan, although he cheers for a different team than Dr. Carlyle. He also loves to run, bike and has a love/hate relationship with his golf clubs!
